Wines from the Seaside. Poseidon Vineyard lies at sea level, at the confluence of Carneros Creek and the Napa River. We’ve farmed this vineyard for more than forty years, from the time Nicholas Molnar planted the property in 1973, following his hunch that the region would produce great wines. Even after forty years of farming, this undulating, gravelly bayside terrain, continues to inspire exploration and discovery.

We've inherited a lifetime of knowledge about how to grow premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes on this unique corner of Napa Carneros.
In the late 60s, you'd have seen more cattle ranching than vines being shepherded in this part of the valley. But Nicholas Molnar, father to two of the three Tricycle Wine Partners, had a hunch. He saw intense sunshine, tempered by the foggy and cooling sea air. He saw gravelly soils that would provide the excellent drainage that make for excellent fruit. In fact, the drainage conditions of the old Carneros Creek riverbed, formed sometime at the close of the last ice age, are unsurpassed in the Carneros area.
In 41 years of careful cultivation and passionate study at this retreated edge of the Bay, we've developed an intimate knowledge of the vines' personalities and the land's particularities. And we still get excited about the unforeseeable discoveries and effects of each new growing season.
