Rosé for the Bay is a rosé of Pinot Noir crafted in support of the San Francisco Baykeeper. Peter Molnar, founding partner of Poseidon Vineyard and vintner of Rosé for the Bay, is a member of Baykeeper’s Board of Directors and a lifelong sailor and Bay swimmer. One hundred percent of our winery proceeds from this limited production will go directly to Baykeeper, helping to fund their work including buying fuel for patrol runs, paying for laboratory analysis and funding long-term legal actions to stop the Bay’s worst polluters. Starting from a combination of freshly pressed Pinot Noir grapes and saignée from some of our still wine lots, this rosé fermented over a few weeks in a very small tank, at very cold temperature, in order to lock in the fresh flavors. To retain the wine’s liveliness, the wine was bottled shortly after fermentation.
Pale blush in color with beautiful aromas of white peaches and apricots, along with hints of wet stone & mineral. Bright and crisp on the palate with notes of rose petals mixed with fresh raspberry sorbet, the 2016 rosé finishes with a kiss of lime that refreshes the palate.
Rosé for the Bay is sold exclusively on our website and at our tasting room, as well as a few select restaurant and retail accounts in the Bay Area.
